This Application Developer Position Features:
Full-time position
This position will collaborate with other developers on new DWR application projects and provides the chief information officer with status updates on requests as needed. Develop communication and action plans on the strategy to address project requests in a timely manner. This includes planning, design, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting new application screens, reports, batch processing, interfaces, and data extracts.
• This position will update and track progress on trouble tickets and work requests related to DWR's application development team in the helpdesk system. This includes application user management (resetting database passwords), diagnosing and solving database connectivity problems, errors with screens, reports, and data.
• This position will consult with DWR staff to analyze software needs and detail software solutions through documentation, workflow charts, system specifications and other methods.
This position will provide training to and solicit feedback from DWR staff on applications developed or maintained by the agency.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Two years of programming/computer science or a related degree is required.
• Four years of work experience as an Application Programmer Analyst in lieu of the two years of formal education.
• Limited independent work experience in applications programming is essential.
• 3-5 years of .Net experience in ASP, C#, etc.
• Someone with Azure experience would be a plus.
• Will be working with an Agile team.
• The understanding of proper database design, report development and database normalization is required.
• Employee must have a valid Class C (or higher) Kansas driver’s license or equivalent license from another state. Employee is responsible to maintain an acceptable driving record to safely drive state vehicle and be willing and able to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with this position.
