Description:
• Providing design engineering expertise for race car vehicle design including creating and analyzing design concepts, CAD models, drawings, and interpreting test results.
• Plan and complete assigned engineering projects and mentor engineers
Must Have:
• Extensive knowledge of race car chassis and suspension structural and mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and theories.
• Knowledge of raw material specifications and codes.
• Knowledge of prototype machining, castings, treatment processes.
• Knowledge of drawing control procedures.
• Knowledge of mechanical and cost calculation process.
• Strong Project Management skills.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to accurately apply engineering theories to design drawings.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs of vehicle components.
Minimum Experience & Skills:
• 5-7 years’ direct design experience of motorsport vehicles and systems.
• Extensive experience with CAD software modelling of race car components.
• Parametric modelling experience is highly desirable. Strong design analytical skills are required.
• Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with race car chassis and mechanical systems.
• Previous experience evaluating and implementing design changes, specifications, and drawing releases
• Proficient with workstation hardware and CAD software use to create models, drawings, design calculations, related design documents.
• Previous product design review experience ensuring compliance with engineering principles, company objectives, and related specifications.
• Previous experience coordinating design activities related to project development, scheduling, and resolution of engineering design and test issues.
