Description:
Our client, a well-established and forward-thinking electrical engineering firm, is seeking a talented Electrical Designer/Drafter to join their Calabasas team. This role is ideal for a self-driven, detail-oriented professional with hands-on experience in electrical design and drafting who enjoys working across diverse project types — including K-12, higher education, mixed-use developments, commercial buildings, and tenant improvement projects.
The Electrical Designer/Drafter will play a key role in the design and coordination of lighting, power, and low-voltage systems, working closely with senior engineers and project leaders from concept through completion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop lighting, power, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems under the guidance of a Principal or Senior Engineer.
• Perform advanced CAD/BIM/Revit drafting and assist with project engineering tasks to support electrical design deliverables.
• Collaborate closely with internal project teams, architects, and other disciplines to ensure accurate and coordinated designs.
• Participate in occasional client meetings or communications as directed by senior leadership.
• Conduct site visits and field investigations as required for design validation and project coordination (travel expenses reimbursed).
• Assist with project documentation, load calculations, and Title 24 compliance studies.
• Support the preparation of construction drawings, technical specifications, and as-built documentation.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of hands-on electrical design and drafting experience in the AEC industry.
• Proficiency in:
o Revit 2025, AutoCAD 2025, BIM360
o SKM Power Tools (short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies)
o EnergyPro 9/10 (Title 24 compliance)
o Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong understanding of electrical systems design principles and related building codes.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to coordinate effectively with clients and team members.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
