We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team, The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in power system analysis and engineering, with a strong focus on the evaluation of generation interconnection requests and technical studies.
As an Electrical Engineer in this role, you will be responsible for reviewing Generation Interconnection Requests, ensuring technical data completeness, and conducting studies to ensure safe, reliable interconnections. You will work with various tools and systems to perform power flow, short-circuit duty, and voltage analysis, and you will create one-line diagrams and study reports as part of the interconnection process.
Key Responsibilities:
Review Generation Interconnection Requests, ensuring technical data is complete and appropriate for study.
Perform technical analysis and studies, including power flow, short-circuit duty, and voltage analysis, to support safe and reliable interconnections.
Create one-line diagrams and detailed study reports.
Review Generation Interconnection Agreements for completeness and compliance.
Evaluate Rule 21 or WDAT screens and determine if further studies are required.
Apply engineering principles and practices to solve complex and diverse technical challenges.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
At least 5 years of engineering experience in power systems or related fields.
Strong experience with power system analysis studies, including power flow and short-circuit analysis.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to adapt and modify standard techniques and procedures as required for specific challenges.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience with generation interconnection studies and Net Energy Metering (NEM) projects.
Familiarity with the Rule 21 Tariff and WDAT.
Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., CYME, CAPE).
Experience with Google Earth Pro and PCI.
Knowledge of generation interconnection agreement reviews.
