Engineering Associate
Qualifications:
***Candidates with no work experience (new graduates) are NOT suitable for the role***
The ideal candidate is fluent with the tools (Inventor, Vault, AutoCAD), knows piping and steel frame design and has minimally worked in a mechanical design role for 3-5 years.
Minimum of 3 years design and drafting experience in these areas of expertise:
• Must be familiar with piping specifications, administrative and technical practices, design instructions, plot plans, flow diagrams and interpreting vendor information
• Thoroughly skillful in AutoCAD and Inventor 3D drafting of engineering drawings
• Knowledge of and experience with piping system design especially for skidded equipment used in water, wastewater, chemical processing, petroleum processing, etc.
• Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel and Microsoft Outlook
• Knowledge of Drafting CAD Standards, including creating CAD Standards Libraries, Paper/Model Space, and Plotting/Publishing
• Highly motivated, eager to contribute to the establishment of an effective and efficient design/drafting team
• Ability to work and collaborate in a group environment.
• Must be a team player
• Must be detailed oriented.
• Ability to maintain professionalism at all times.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Field Experience a plus
Responsibilities:
• Assist Project and Applications Engineers with initial design and final design solutions on projects and proposals
• Develops Equipment General Arrangement drawings as well as Plant Layouts
• Conceptualize plans, details, and sections to accurately convey construction or fabrication requirements
• Prepare and develop 2D CAD designs under the supervision of the lead piping designer or engineer
• Develops 3D models of fabricated, skidded systems for shop assembly
• Check drawings and designs for assembly and manufacturability
• Ensure compliance with approve design standards, to provide quality design
• Coordinate vendor supplied drawings or information into project drawings
• Draft piping drawings and isometrics
• Prepare Bill of Material
• Communicate and interface with other engineering disciplines
