Job Title: Lab Technician

Duration: 12+ Months

Location: Millsboro, DE 19966

Qualifications

High School diploma/GED with 2–3 years lab experience, or Bachelor’s in Science (new grads welcome).
Must not live/work on a poultry farm.
Experience in regulated industry and aseptic/cleanroom environments.
Basic lab skills (pipettes, stir plates, cylinders).
Preferred: Hatchery/egg-handling knowledge (candling, inoculation, harvesting).
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.
Basic math and conversions; intermediate MS Office skills.
Prior lab/manufacturing facility experience.
Able to recognize problems, follow procedures, and meet deadlines.
Must read, write, and communicate effectively across teams.
Flexible schedule: overtime, weekends, holidays, possible rotating shifts.
One-year assignment; no travel required.


Responsibilities

Support production of veterinary products by performing critical lab and manufacturing tasks under GMP, SOP, and safety guidelines.

Core Duties (90%)

Clean/sterilize glassware, equipment, and work areas.
Assist with equipment setup and aseptic procedures (media prep, inoculation, harvest, cell culture, vaccine filling).
Perform incubation, weighing, and record-keeping.
Maintain safe work practices and proper gowning.
Additional Duties (10%)

Fill, label, cap, and package product; perform visual inspections.
Train new team members.
Handle poultry for tissue/waste collection.
Support SOP/review, data entry, and supply requisitioning.
Attend required training and report unusual events.
Manage hazardous waste if trained.
