Maintenance Technician
$34-36/hour, Union, Non-exempt.
Mostly voluntary, planned overtime.
4 X 10, Monday to Thursday, 10am to 830pm OR 4 X 10 Monday to Thursday 1pm to 1130pm
POSITION PURPOSE
The Maintenance Technician's role is to improve production at the plant by troubleshooting and analysis of technical data and ensuring installation and preventative maintenance of equipment in proper and safe working condition. The position is responsible for minimizing down time for the efficient operation of plant equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for the monitoring and repair of the Temper Line and Plasma/Oxy-Fuel Table equipment to ensure that efficiency and minimal down time of the line is maintained.
Performs general maintenance on plant equipment (Lubrication, Monitoring, Repairing, Preventative Maintenance & Inspections) and informs Maintenance Supervisor if additional resources are required.
Responsible for completing Work Orders as well as identifying potential equipment problems and initiating improvements projects.
Communicates with Operators to ensure a constant and smooth flow of the operation along with questioning the operation of the equipment to detect problems or concerns.
Ensures all procedures are followed as outlined in the ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 manuals as well as all safety rules and regulations are followed.
Will work with hand tools, overhead floor-remoted cranes, oxy-fuel hand torch, fork lift, welding equipment and computers.
Regular and reliable attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 3 years of industrial and preventative maintenance experience.
Solid mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and welding skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills along with organizational and basic computer skills
Education Required: Minimum High School Diploma or High School Equivalent, with technical education at trade school, military or similar organization WORK
