The Senior Electrical Design Engineer reports to the Manager, Electrical Engineering located in Hudson, Massachusetts. This position requires an understanding of electrical systems coupled with strong communication skills to collaborate technically with other departments and customers to identify and ultimately implement solutions that support customer and business goals.
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the development of system architectures for next generation of ESS and mobility products.
• Take ownership of electrical subsystems, including component selection, simulation and testing, PCB layout and assembly and product specification.
• Collect data from a wide variety of experiments, electrical testing, and analytical evaluations.
• Conduct root cause and failure analysis using various analytical techniques and tools.
• Contributes to the development of detailed product and subsystem specifications based on product requirements for system level design, operation, and controls.
• Create test engineering and validation plans to ensure proper implementation.
• Assist in regulatory compliance testing and validation.
• Collaborates on feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
• Maintains product documentation (drawings and specifications) and lessons including producing design reports, test reports, operating manuals, and test procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to define the technology roadmap for current and future products.
• Support prototype system builds to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Construct circuits on breadboards to test new electrical circuitry.
Position Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree.
• Master of Science in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical system design or five (5) years with demonstrated experience developing a product from concept through production on a multidiscipline project with complex systems.
• Experience with the product design process, validation testing, and documentation.
• Knowledgeable in electrical design best practices, including circuit design, component selection, circuit protections, and PCB layout.
