Fulltime exempt. Salary range: $60K - $69K
2nd Shift. 4 X 10, Monday to Thursday, 1pm - 1130pm. Some flex possible.

Job Purpose:

The Shipping Coordinator will collaborate on the daily execution of receiving, planning, and shipping of goods utilizing the appropriate mode of transport. The Coordinator will work cross functionally with other departments on billing, payments, transportation vendor management, load tendering, track and trace, as well as daily, weekly and monthly reporting. Additionally, the position will be required to prepare work schedules for the St. Paul facility shipping/receiving activities and assist in coordinating production and warehouse staffing to meet daily needs while maintaining a safe working environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Scheduling

Reviews internal and third party order intake to identify and help resolve any issues that would inhibit effective and efficient delivery.

Assists in scheduling transportation for all accepted orders to ensure efficient equipment and facility utilization, to minimize inventories and to meet customer delivery requirements.

Coordinate with the local rail transfer company to facilitate efficient scheduling of rail cars into and out of the facility to minimize demurrage cost.

Production

Assists in scheduling available manpower to meet daily production and shipping needs in compliance with the union agreement and by maintaining employee attendance, vacation and overtime schedules.

In the Operations Manager's absence, directs staff to meet production needs when manpower shortages occur.

Maintains production/shipping records and advises the Operations Manager when output levels fall below stated goals.

Reviews production records for accuracy to ensure the product requirement has been met. Inputs the records into the mainframe system.

Assists in all duties related to the Transportation Coordinator as needed.

Fills in for Shift & Production Coordinator in scheduling duties as needed.

Fills out requisitions to maintain proper levels of production/shipping supplies.

Receives raw materials into the mainframe system.

Safety

Maintain safe working conditions by being a permanent member of the Safety Committee, conducting housekeeping tours, assist in all accident and near miss investigations and conduct monthly employee safety observations.

Assist in conducting periodic Tool Box Talks and safety training to all warehouse employees.

Staffing

Provide direction and support to the Production employees as needed and in the absence of the Operations Manager.

This position reports directly to the Operations Manager of the St Paul facility.

Qualifications: Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred Education: Associates or Technical degree

3+ years previous experience with manufacturing or transportation

Knowledge of MS Office applications

Good verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated teamwork, conflict resolution and problem solving skills

Regular and reliable attendance

Around moving trucks and industrial mobile equipment
