Short Description:

A Quality Control Analyst ensures that products or processes meet established standards of quality by conducting tests and inspections. They analyze data, identify defects, and recommend corrective actions to improve product quality. Working in industries such as pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, or food production, they play a critical role in maintaining compliance with regulations and optimizing processes.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Analyze test results and identify trends or patterns that could indicate potential quality issues.
  • Conduct inspections on products and processes to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing, inspections, and quality control processes.
  • Ensure all procedures and processes comply with regulatory and industry standards, such as GMP or ISO.
  • Investigate causes of product defects or failures and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with production teams to improve manufacturing processes and enhance product quality.
  • Prepare detailed reports on test results, defects, and any necessary corrective actions.
  • Ensure that testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Assist with internal and external quality audits, providing necessary documentation and data.

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field. Certifications in quality control, such as Six Sigma or Certified Quality Analyst (CQA), are preferred.
  • Experience: Experience in quality control, testing, or laboratory analysis in a relevant industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in lab testing equipment and software for data analysis (e.g., LIMS). Knowledge of quality control methodologies such as statistical process control (SPC).
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in testing, data analysis, and reporting to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to identify issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry regulations, such as GMP, ISO standards, and FDA requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate test results and quality concerns to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and ensure consistent quality throughout the production process.
