Short Description:

A Network Security Engineer assists in developing and maintaining integrated programs to protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information resources. Responsibilities include but are not limited to installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting all related IT security systems and components.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the overall health of network security infrastructure and maintains all components at the optimal operating level.
  • Administration and support of security and threat monitoring infrastructure
  • Administration and support of Antimalware infrastructure
  • Virtual Private Network and remote access solutions implementation, administration, and support.
  • Implements business continuity and disaster recovery processes for all technologies and services that fall under this functional area.
  • Monitors and secures supported systems per industry standards and institutional directives.
  • Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves problems and issues.
  • Coordinates third-party and vendor activities.
  • Change control (coordination, request, preparation, approval)

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Experience and education: Professional experience in areas such as theories, principles, and concepts acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Networking, Computer Science, MIS, or closely related discipline, with four or more years of work experience.
  • Skills: Demonstrates experience in implementing IDS, Host Side Intrusion Detection, Firewall configuration, email encryption, and PHI filtering, as well as Anti-Spam / Virus and content filtering necessary. Cisco security appliances and other security technologies, including Firewalls, ISE, Agari SecureX, and Umbrella.
  • Troubleshooting: Experience with configuring, troubleshooting, and network monitoring.
