Short Description:

A Process Integration Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and integrating manufacturing processes to improve product performance, yield, and reliability. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate design changes, troubleshoot process issues, and ensure seamless transitions between development and production. The role involves analyzing data, conducting experiments, and implementing process improvements in alignment with quality and efficiency goals. Process Integration Engineers play a key role in bridging design and fabrication to achieve consistent, high-quality output. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Develop, optimize, and implement semiconductor manufacturing processes that integrate multiple fabrication steps into cohesive production workflows
  • Collaborate with process engineers, equipment engineers, and design teams to ensure process compatibility and manufacturability
  • Analyze process data, yield results, and defect trends to identify root causes of performance or reliability issues
  • Design and execute experiments (DOE) to validate new materials, process parameters, and integration methods
  • Support technology transfer from research and development to high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process deviations, yield losses, or equipment performance issues across fabrication lines
  • Coordinate cross-functional reviews to align design, process, and reliability requirements for new product introductions
  • Maintain documentation of process flows, specifications, and technical reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process stability, cost efficiency, and device performance
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, cleanroom protocols, and environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in materials science, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field required
  • Experience: 3–7 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, process development, or integration engineering
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes such as lithography, etch, deposition, diffusion, and CMP
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), data analysis, and root cause methodologies (e.g., FMEA, 8D)
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify complex integration challenges and implement effective technical solutions
  • Tools & Software: Experience with process simulation tools, data analysis software (e.g., JMP, Minitab), and CAD systems
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and cross-functional collaboration
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and coordinate activities across interdisciplinary teams
