Short Description:

A Facilities Engineer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, operation, and improvement of an organization's building systems and infrastructure. Their duties include ensuring the functionality of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems, as well as managing repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance schedules. Facilities Engineers often work closely with contractors, vendors, and other departments to ensure that the facility operates efficiently and complies with safety regulations. Strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and project management abilities are essential for success in this role, as Facilities Engineers play a key role in maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyze data, blueprints, and reports
  • Determine facility and equipment specifications
  • Analyze project costs and prepare budgets
  • Design and oversee the implementation of facility expansion, layout, various systems, and quality controls
  • Evaluate operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies
  • Develop processing plans and optimize resource allocation
  • Plan and coordinate infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors performing maintenance activities
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards
  • Prepare reports and compliance documentation
  • Monitor and maintain plant equipment and machinery
  • Fix any mechanical issues with the equipment
  • Train and assist plant personnel in carrying out safety and quality control procedures
  • Complete training reports and update records

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Mechanical Skills: Ability to work with all machinery and robotics used in the manufacturing process.
  • Dexterity: Ability to work with tools and machinery on a daily basis.
  • Problem-solving & Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues as quickly as possible.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to identify processes that can be improved to benefit the organization and the safety of the team.
  • Teamwork: Have keen interpersonal skills and the ability to remain professional at all times.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a Facilities Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Software: Experience with AutoCAD, SAP, and MS Office.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of building processes, construction principles, and relevant regulations and building codes.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project Management: Project management skills a plus.
